The objective of the project was to create a sense of privacy and openness simultaneously and to fill the apartments with light despite the proximity of surrounding buildings.

The façade’s pattern—and the character of the entire building—is defined by a combination of two types of windows. The first type is panoramic, flush with the plane of the façade, allowing one to observe the life of the entire street. The second type is made à la French balconies, recessed into the façade for added privacy.

To fit the building in the context of Kursovoy Lane and connect it with the historical neighbourhood, we came up with an allusion to the traditional window decoration. Taking local nalichniki, platbands, as a starting point, we proposed their modern reinterpretation.
