The key feature of the façade are transparent glass columns that glow at night, and are decorative and not structural. Right after sunset, when there is still daylight, the columns glow at full power. As dusk settles in, the intensity gradually decreases, down to ten percent by the time of total darkness. Built-in reflectors prevent the light from shining into apartments.
At street view, the building seems minimalist and strict, but on closer inspection, the complex structure of the façade comes into focus. Its grandeur and symmetry seamlessly fit the building into the surrounding Stalinist environment. Panoramic windows make the midrise visually taller.
